It is with joy and much gratitude for Christian Science that I give this testimony.

Before learning of this truth, I was a hospital-trained nurse, and also had had much training at home in medicine and medical treatments, since my father was a physician and my grandmother a midwife.

About eight years ago I went to live with a friend who was interested in Christian Science, and who very quietly and calmly gave me from time to time the fundamentals of this teaching. I attended some lectures and Wednesday evening testimony meetings, and finally began to apply a few of the statements as given in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I entered my son, aged six years, in the Christian Science Sunday School. He learned "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468) so quickly—and used it—that I began to think, If that child can grasp the truth, so can I. I earnestly studied Science and Health, and as a result of this study had many beautiful experiences.
