I send this testimony with a great desire to help someone who may be struggling to overcome a condition similar to the one I experienced.

A number of years ago through Christian Science I was led out of the depths of despair caused by a nervous breakdown. I had always been of a very joyous nature, but almost in a second, while I was walking in the street one summer afternoon, my world seemed to be turned completely upside down. For a year and a half I could not sleep. Each day between three and five o'clock in the afternoon I seemed to hear a voice saying: "Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Each time, after these words were heard, giving me assurance that His everlasting arms were upholding me, a spiritual illumination flooded my consciousness. New life would spring up in me, giving energy of Spirit, and I would cry out, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." Thereupon I would immediately start preparing dinner. This procedure continued for a year and a half.
