Out of love and gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy...

Out of love and gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy I should like to tell of the benefits I have received through my own study of Christian Science. Early in 1935 I commenced reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and since that time some glorious healings have resulted.

For a number of years before coming to Bristol, when I was a London Hospital employee, I underwent a major operation for tuberculosis and was told I should have to have another. This was made entirely unnecessary, thanks to Christian Science. My first healings, some of which were instantaneous, were of loneliness, a very bad cold, constipation, the tobacco habit of over fifty-five years' standing, gambling and other bad habits of over forty years' standing. I have also been healed of deafness, for which I had to wear a hearing appliance. Varicose veins and chronic catarrh have been healed; and I rejoice to say that the large assortment of pills and medicines with which I was always supplied has been cleared out, and they have not been used since I have known this glorious healing truth.

After taking up my residence in this town, I was X-rayed in a local hospital for back and stomach trouble. I was informed by the doctor that I was suffering from an incurable disease called osteoarthritis. The severity of the suffering occasioned by this ailment can be judged from the fact that it seemed impossible for me to ride in any vehicle, sit in an easy chair, or sleep at night. Now I am grateful to say that I can sleep well, walk several miles and enjoy it, and ride in any vehicle without any pain or inconvenience. This healing has come entirely through my own study.
