Many years ago my father became interested in Christian Science and was benefited through study and treatments. At the time, I had suffered from material fever for many years, and each time this ailment made itself manifest, my father would say, "Why don't you try Christian Science?" I would reply that I had absolutely no faith in Christian Science and that he no doubt received help because of his faith. One day, while I was visiting my parents, this trouble once again presented itself and once more my father asked me to give Christian Science a trail. I agreed to do so, more to convince him that it would not help me than in expectation of receiving help. I went to a practitioner, told her I had no faith in Christian Science, and asked whether she thought she could help me. I have never forgotten her answer, "I know I can help you, and your faith will come after you have been helped."

I fully expected to be confined to my bed for at least a week or two—the usual duration of one of these attacks. I was very much surprised the following morning not only to be able to get up, but to get up feeling quite well. Healed! I still remember how surprised I was and saying to my husband, "I am going back to that woman today for another treatment to make sure." I did go back, and when the practitioner asked how I felt, I told her why I had come. She laughed and said, "My dear, you don't need another treatment; you have been healed." Many physicians had treated that difficulty from the time I was ten years of age until after I was married, but without success.

Since then I have had many healings, among them those of whooping cough over two years ago, a severe case of ivy poisoning, grippe, neuralgia, and neuritis.
