Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

French-speaking Switzerland.

Relations with the press are very good. Only on a single occasion has it been necessary to reply to a letter from a physician published in a local newspaper after a full report of a Christian Science lecture had appeared in the same paper. The reply to this letter appeared two days later. An interview with the editors took place, during which one of them asked for a copy of the paper containing the lecture. Not a single copy of this issue could be found, as it had been sold out, while that containing the physician's letter had not sold well. The editors were impressed by this fact.

Summaries of our lectures are printed by the newspapers, which sometimes place them under the heading "Religious News." Two lectures were published in full. Several papers announce our services every week free of charge. The Journal de Genève referred to the opening of the new building of First Church, Basel. An editor in Lausanne was glad to receive a copy of the book, "Mary Baker Eddy: A Life Size Portrait" by Dr. Lyman P. Powell, as well as a copy of The Christian Science Journal.
