My family and I have received many healings—instantaneous ones of lumbago, grippe, mumps, and other difficulties, and some requiring much time and patience. I am grateful for them all, but especially so for the comforting sense of God's presence, gained through the better understanding of the Bible which the study of Christian Science brings.

A recent experience has proved to be a blessing in many ways. One Sunday morning, two hours before church time, I dropped a washtub of boiling water, and was severely burned about the face, neck, arms, and knees. A dear friend was called in to help me, and the next two hours were devoted to metaphysical work and study. The pain was relieved almost immediately. I was able to take my place as First Reader that morning, no manifestation of the accident being visible. As soon as the service was concluded, however, huge blisters formed, which disappeared shortly before the Wednesday evening meeting, so that I was able to fulfill my duties. Although I was confined to bed the greater part of the week, I suffered but very little discomfort and no actual pain. There was some fear expressed that I should be scarred, but in ten days I was healed, and a short time thereafter all traces of the burns had vanished.

I am very grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and of serving in this great Cause. I am very grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her writings, for the periodicals, and for her devotion in giving Christian Science, with its many avenues of good, to a hungering world. I am grateful for Christ Jesus, who in loving patience showed us the way to the kingdom of heaven. "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."
