Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

No bill was passed during the 1937 sessions of the legislature which adversely affected the interests of Christian Scientists.

A woman who had become quite despondent, unintentionally heard one of the Christian Science studio programs, and found herself completely healed. A mother of a large family was very lame and had a disease for which she had taken medicine every day for eight years. After hearing two Christian Science studio programs she asked for help in Christian Science, threw away her medicine, and was quickly healed. Eight members of her family have since asked for and received help in Christian Science, and this woman has become an earnest student. A family living some distance from one of the cities in the state where Christian Science studio programs are regularly broadcast, became interested in Christian Science through listening to these programs and made arrangements to move closer to that city, so that they could attend the church services and send their children to the Christian Science Sunday School. A city official heard one of the electrical transcriptions broadcast from a station in a near-by city, and the next morning made inquiry and took steps to get a copy of the Christian Science textbook.

At the time of the broadcasting of one of our studio programs, a Christian Scientist parked her car in a driveway to listen to the program. A man in bed with tuberculosis, in an upstairs apartment on the other side of the driveway, heard this program from the car. At the conclusion of the program he sent someone downstairs to ask this woman to come in and talk to him. He obtained information from her as to where he could borrow a copy of the Christian Science textbook, and soon began reading. Within a week he was out of bed. His complete healing followed very quickly, and he has continued in his study of Christian Science.
