It is with sincere gratitude that I give my testimony of healings in Christian Science. My first healing has always been an inspiration to me.

A number of years ago I seemed to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown, due to mental stress. At that time my mother had invited me to spend a few months with her in Kansas City, and I had accepted her invitation. The eldest of my three little daughters, a very small child, was suffering from severe pain in her side, which was pronounced by a physician to be acute appendicitis, and he advised an immediate operation. I was very anxious that we should reach my mother's home, so that if anything happened to me the little one would receive the proper care. After two days of traveling I was very much fatigued, and the suggestion to lie down and rest made me fearful that I should not be able to get up again.

After I arrived at my mother's home, my sister asked me if I cared to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and just to be polite I took the book and went into a room by myself. I do not remember how long or how much I read, but when my sister called to me I had forgotten for the moment that I was in Kansas City. I was conscious of a beautiful sense of calm and happiness. but could not understand why. I slept better that night than I had for months, and awakened the following morning happy. I did not realize until a few days later that I had been healed while reading Science and Health.
