I am fourteen years of age and a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School. While at the beach during the summer of 1936 I had an opportunity to know just how much the training in the Sunday school means to me.

My three younger cousins, a little friend, and I started out to take a canoe ride. We often did this, as my little cousins were trained to keep very still. As we were passing the pier, a little boy whom we knew called to us and asked to be allowed to go with us. I hesitated at first, but decided to take him as he was so eager to go.

All went well for a while. We sang as we paddled along, having such a fine time. All at once the little boy whom we had taken in at the pier stood up and leaned over the side of the canoe. Over it went, and all of us with it. The water was twenty-five feet deep, and we were about three miles from shore.
