Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

South Dakota.

Eight lectures on Christian Science were given in South Dakota by members of the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church. Of this number four were printed in full, and nine papers carried partial reports of from two hundred to twelve hundred words.

Committees on Publication are privileged to offer subscriptions for The Christian Science Monitor to editors of newspapers in localities where there are no Christian Science churches or societies, in exchange for an equal amount of advertising in their papers. Sixty-three newspapers have taken advantage of this Monitor-in-exchange-for-advertising plan, an increase of twenty-five new subscriptions over last year. Reprints from the Monitor, giving due credit, appeared in fifty-two newspapers, totaling one hundred and thirty-one items, as well as eight reprints of the cartoon captioned "Hitting Both Ways." One editor has had his exchange subscription to the Monitor sent to a Methodist minister, who expressed his appreciation of the paper. Many other favorable comments have been received.
