Mrs. Eddy says in "Unity of Good" (p. 17), "A lie has only one chance of successful deception,—to be accounted true;" and a few lines farther on, "Be allied to the deific power, and all that is good will aid your journey, as the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. (Judges v. 20.)"

I am profoundly thankful that fifteen years ago, the reading of a gift copy of the Christian Science textbook began to open my eyes to the lie I was believing about myself, and caused me to recognize that alliance with God which is the inalienable birthright of all men. The study of that marvelous book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is revealing to me the spiritual treasures contained in the Bible.

While not having taken up the study of Christian Science with any thought of physical healing, I discovered one day, to my astonishment and delight, that I had given up the habit of smoking. This was only the first of a long series of benefits and healings I have received. A veritable revolution has taken place in me and all my affairs with such convincing proofs of God's goodness and power that, in all humility and gratitude, I can say I have proved the truth of the promise in Psalms, "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
