In a letter which appeared in the issue of the Press-Union of July 7 a reference was made to the teachings of Mrs. Eddy.

In order to correct any possible misunderstanding as to the teaching of Christian Science regarding the unreality of sin, kindly allow me space in your valued paper to say that Christian Science is established solely on the Scriptures, and upon the teachings of Christ Jesus. Thus it follows that the doctrine of the Galilean Prophet, who included in his healing ministry divine pardon for sin in the eradication of sinful thinking and sinful habits through his application of the law of God, is also the doctrine of Christian Science. This Science, in like manner, heals sin and sickness due to fear and ignorance, by correcting sinful thoughts through the application of the same law of God, Principle.

Christian Science explains that although sin and sickness may appear real, they are nevertheless errors of the carnal mind, which the Apostle Paul affirmed "is enmity against God," and that these errors cease to exist when they are corrected or healed by a right understanding of Deity and of man's perfect unity with God. Christ Jesus declared, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
