[Christian Science Organization at New York University]

Our organization was started three years ago, and during the past year we changed our meeting place to one of the large divisions of our six widely-scattered educational centers. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in a classroom having a piano. Much inspiration has been gained by those present.

Our lecture was attended by approximately two hundred persons. Previous to the lecture, a special preparation meeting was held. Each member was requested to prepare readings from our authorized books and literature to provide the proper metaphysical background. A deep sense of hope and protection came to us as the various selections were read, expressing the power of the inspired Word as revealed in Christian Science. The Christian Science Organization at Columbia University, our neighboring college, was invited to attend, together with our own university public. It was thought better not to announce the lecture publicly because of the possibility of a larger attendance of nonuniversity people than our auditorium can accommodate.

We are grateful to report the following fruitage. A young man entered the hall, which is ordinarily used for school dramatic productions, and after being seated inquired if this was to be a lecture on Shakespeare. A friend of the organization replied that a lecture on Christian Science was to be given, whereupon the young man arose to leave, saying that he was an atheist. Our friend invited him to stay, and he accepted the invitation. Following the lecture, he was asked if he enjoyed it, to which he replied, "I got something out of every word."
