It is with joy and gratitude that I give this testimony
It is with joy and gratitude that I give this testimony. It seems incredible that I have known of Christian Science for only two years, for during this short period many difficulties have been solved and I have received innumerable blessings.
When I first heard of Christian Science I did not begin to study it, thinking that I knew all about it. Later, when my boy became ill, and neither he nor I wanted a doctor, we called a practitioner, and then I earnestly took up the study of this Science. Two days later my son was healed, and from that time he regularly attended the Christian Science Sunday School. He was then seventeen years old, and was very much pleased with the Sunday school, from which he seldom stayed away. From his birth he had been a nervous and delicate child, suffering from chronic bronchitis and influenza. He had been absent from school frequently, and this was a handicap to his progress. I had taken him to a children's clinic for medical and educational advice, but without any appreciable result. For years he had worn spectacles, and because of congenital weakness the specialist said that he would always need them. This seemed to limit his capacities. After two months' study of Christian Science, and with the help of a practitioner, he was able to discard his glasses, because he understood that God's child did not need them.
During the last year he has been absent from school for only a few days, and his last report was better than it has ever been. Although formerly his teachers thought that he could not keep up with his class, now they are all very well satisfied with his progress.
