Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Kentucky.

Temporary relief headquarters were opened in the Highland district of Louisville on January 27, at the height of the flood, and funds were available to meet the immediate needs of Christian Scientists who had been forced to evacuate their homes.

A joint committee, comprised of members of First and Second Churches of Christ, Scientist, Louisville, closely watched all relief depots and made every possible effort to locate Christian Scientists and place them in Christian Science homes in districts not reached by the flood. It is gratifying to report that, as far as we know, all Louisville Scientists whose homes were flooded, except a few who were sent out of the city, either found refuge with friends or relatives or were lovingly sheltered by other Christian Scientists. Many had outstanding proofs of divine Love's ever-present protection and supply.
