One of the original purposes of observing Labor Day was to develop an increased respect for the dignity of labor. Admittedly, it was a worthy purpose, and one which still exists

Labor, to be well done, must be intelligently directed. That is a generally conceded fact. The more intelligence there is used in various activities of labor, the more efficient is the result. Going a step further, we find efficiency in labor is in direct ratio to the intelligence directing the labor.
