With a heart full of joy and gratitude I wish to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science.

Over three years ago, when I was in very great physical distress by reason of an abscess at the top of the right lung, and when one of the most eminent members of the Academy of Medicine in Paris had pronounced my case hopeless, stating that an immediate operation seemed to be the only hope of salvation he could advise under the circumstances, I was led to Christian Science by a woman then unknown to me, but now a friend.

On her invitation, in spite of the difficulty I had in walking—all my joints were swollen because of the poison which spread farther every day—I went to the Wednesday testimony meeting. For the first time, as I read in the hall that "God is Love," I understood that He would respond to my human need for healing. This profound truth impressed itself upon me and did not leave me. I dropped my old religious concepts and mentally put myself in the hands of our Father-Mother God.
