Oil

MAUDE DE VERSE NEWTON

Oh , let me consecrated be,
In purpose undefiled—
To see in all, and be indeed
Myself, Thy faithful child.

Oh, give me charity to have
An understanding heart,
That I with wisdom's ministry
Fulfill a brother's part.

Oh, teach my conscious thought to pray—
To know Thy healing Word,
And feel compassion's gentle touch
By Christly spirit stirred.

Oh, give me oil for daily light,
For inspiration's flame,
That I may serve amidst the host
In Thy all-loving name.
