"If the Scientist reaches his patient through divine Love,...

"If the Scientist reaches his patient through divine Love, the healing work will be accomplished at one visit, and the disease will vanish into its native nothingness like dew before the morning sunshine" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 365). The truth of this statement was proved to me a short time ago through a most wonderful demonstration. I found myself in a very unhappy environment, where the suffering of many people, including children, dazed and bewildered me. Quite suddenly it became possible for me to leave the place, and I fled as though released from prison. But before many hours had passed I realized that I had made a mistake. Though I had left the house, the suffering of those I had left behind was still so real to me that I seemed myself to be attacked by the particular condition which had been manifested there.

In a state of great mental disturbance, almost, it seemed, having lost my reason, I sought the help of a practitioner. Although I was unable even to speak coherently, in a very short time I left his office and joyfully, lovingly, and eagerly returned to the place I had left. Few words had been spoken, but I was instantaneously healed. Signs of healing were also apparent around me before I was again enabled to leave—this time in a more harmonious manner, having obtained a more suitable post. This healing had a far-reaching effect. It healed me also of undue anxiety for the well-being of others, and of a sense of responsibility toward two loved ones in particular.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and my deep appreciation of the consecrated work of the practitioner.—(Miss) Hilda E. Stannard, London, England.
