Before taking up Christian Science I, too, like the woman whom Jesus healed, "suffered many things of many physicians." Three major and several minor operations for intestinal trouble kept me in the hospital for from three weeks to three months each time and left me in a semi-invalid condition, from which the doctor said I would not recover, and warned me to govern my activity accordingly.

Christian Science, however, was not taken up until I had undergone two more major operations for tumor. When it seemed necessary again to go through the same experience for its removal, I was so much discouraged that I was ready to listen to a friend who had recommended Christian Science to me before. On her advice, I went to a practitioner and was healed instantaneously. That was nineteen years ago, and the healing has been permanent.

On leaving the practitioner's office, I bought the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together with a Bible and a copy of the Christian Science Quarterly. This was my first introduction to the study of Christian Science, and the blessings which have followed, have been many.
