As we trace the journeyings of St. Paul through ancient lands and among the heterogeneous peoples of the Roman Empire, we see how vital the Word of God really is. Its power reveals its life; the impetus which it gives the apostles reveals it as an active inner impulse; and its ability to cut through the great barriers of evil proves its sharpness.

Paul, armed only with the words of Life, was a greater conqueror than Rome with all her legions. As he went from city to city he patiently planted animate gospel centers, which steadily grew into important churches. From these humble beginnings a great Christian civilization came into being. ...
