[Original testimony in German]
When I came in contact with Christian Science for the...
When I came in contact with Christian Science for the first time, in October, 1934, I did not foresee what blessings would come to me through it. I had a very serious nervous heart trouble and suffered from such severe attacks that I could not lie down in bed, but had to sit up. In addition, I was tormented by fearful notions; I wept a great deal. There were also bad headaches which often bothered me for a week or two at a time. The doctor told me that my condition was very serious. Again and again, I heard my relatives say that my trouble was probably incurable, because anyone so afflicted in early years would always have that difficulty.
Finally, the illness grew so bad that I almost had to give up my study of music. I was in utter despair. When I attended a Wednesday evening meeting for the first time and listened to the glorious testimonies, I believed everything unreservedly and was wholly convinced of everything I heard, for this I knew—God had led me there, He had shown me the way. My faith was rewarded; from that Wednesday on I was able to sleep again as soundly as I had formerly. Gradually the notions of fear left me, and in a few weeks I was healed and could resume all my very strenuous activities.
For this proof of divine Love I am extremely grateful to my Father-Mother God. Also, I am thankful to all the kind people who have helped me to apprehended the glorious teachings of Christian Science. With deep reverence I think of that noble woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who taught us to find the healing Christ once more.
