With unceasing gratitude I give thanks to God for revealing the truth to Mary Baker Eddy. Through her marvelous spiritual understanding she was able to give mankind the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
For almost twenty-seven years I have been privileged to know and experience God's loving protection through the teachings and application of Christian Science. My heart swells with gratitude for all the beautiful healings, both mental and physical, which I have received. What a revelation it is to listen to the "still small voice" and to know that there is but one law, God's law, the law of good; to realize that everything unlike God, good, is unreal, untrue, and therefore it has no power to harm.
Several years ago, while preparing a pitcher of ice water, I ran the ice pick through my hand. The pick was a little rusty and I had some difficulty in withdrawing it from my hand. I was alone in the house at the time, and I immediately began declaring aloud God's presence and power. Blood started to flow freely from the wound and I made preparations to cleanse the opening. I constantly clung to the truth about God's child, and declared there are no accidents in God's kingdom. Everything to material sense seemed to be fading away, so I wrapped a towel around my hand and started to the living room. As I reached the room everything went black; but after a few moments I regained my normal senses and went ahead with my duties with no ill effects from the experience. God's power and presence were again proved to be supreme.
