[Original testimonies in French]
"Ye are the light of the world."
"Ye are the light of the world." These words of our Master inspire me to give a testimony of a healing which was due solely to Christian Science. In 1931 I gave up the use of alcoholic liquors, to which I had been a slave for four years. Thanks to a practitioner who helped me with much love and patience, I was freed. My sincere desire to be better and not to be an object of repugnance operated to speed my progress the more in this new world of Christian Science, as I regularly studied the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, which are truly our daily bread. I was healed instantaneously of stomach trouble, of neurasthenia, of mental difficulties, and of hallucinations caused by alcholism.
In order that this testimony may give hope and courage to those who "hunger and thirst after righteousness," I shall mention the healing of my wife, who had a rather serious liver complaint. Since she was very young in Christian Science, I treated her to the best of my understanding. At the end of about three weeks the symptoms grew worse, but I stood by the argument of Truth, namely that disease is unreal. I devoted my entire thought that night to the good that Christian Science had done for me; my gratitude overflowed, and the next day things were decidedly better, and some days later her recovery was complete.
We have learned that it is Love which "healeth all [our] diseases." We feel deep gratitude to our dear Leader and to our Master. I am grateful to the practitioners who have helped me. We want to live this Science and to do our best to help the Cause, for the love of God and humanity.
