My Father Knoweth

I know not what my needs may be,
My needs apart from wayward wants.
All that the worldly heart desires,
All that the pride of error vaunts—
All these would lead my steps astray,
Didst Thou not guide me in Thy way.

Thou knowest what I need the most,
Dear Father-Mother God, all-wise!
From Thy rich store Thou blessest me
With that alone which satisfies.
My daily bread, my daily task,
Thou givest ere I need to ask.
