Address by Stephen Curtis, In Charge of Correspondence With Monitor Advertising Information Committees

It is indeed a joy to look out upon this large assembly of happy workers. Your presence is a proof of love for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and of your desire to and maintain one of the great agencies for healing which she established. We are here from our of labor to share with one another the benefits of our experiences, that each may be enriched in understanding and enabled to go forth and inspired to carry on more earnestly this great work for God and man.

In 1908 Mrs. Eddy founded The Christian Science Monitor. The leading in the first issue was signed by and reads "I have given the name was The Christian Science Journal, designed to put on record the divine Science of Truth; the second I entitled Sentinel, third, Der Herold der Christian Science, to of Truth; the next I named Monitor, to spread of Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind."
