Thy Armor

GLADYS CLARKE

Those who have heard the voice of Truth,
And know the better way;
Are well prepared, with armor on,
To prove His truth each day.

Stand firm! all girt about with truth,
With peace thy feet be shod;
The helmet of salvation take,
Thy sword—the Word of God.

Forgetting not the shield of faith,
Wherewith to quench each dart,
Then watch, when all is done, and pray
For strength to stand apart—

Apart with God! thou can'st not fail
To win in every fight;
The mists disperse, the clouds roll back,
And thus reveal the light.
