My life was one of constant suffering until I heard of...

My life was one of constant suffering until I heard of Christian Science. From the year 1910 one illness succeeded another, and my convalescence was long and difficult. My last illness was called Basedow's disease, for which I was treated, not very successfully, in a sanatorium in the Tatra and in Prague. After the sad loss of my daughter, my heart was very weak, and my illness became so much worse that the doctors and specialists pronounced my state of health very serious, even hopeless. An operation was deemed necessary, which meant a stay of eight months in hospital. After this I spent my time either in bed or on the couch and looked sadly out of the window at the healthy passers-by. There were moments in which I longed for death, hoping thus to be freed from all pain.

When I was taken to a Christian Science church service a great change occurred in my life. On the very first day I felt greatly strengthened and filled with true, holy devotion. I instinctively felt that I had been where I could regain my lost health. I asked help of a practitioner, which was lovingly given. My health improved daily, and today I can say I am well; I am newborn; I am happy as I never was before. I feel strong and steadfast, filled with firm faith, understanding the true substance of man's being and convinced of the omnipresence of God. It is such a great proof to me of God's love that I can find no words to express my gratitude.

I thank God, our Father-Mother, for His great mercy. I thank Christian Science and Mrs. Eddy for this understanding; and the practitioner for her selfless and tireless care.—(Mrs.) Marie Kimminichová, Prague, Czechoslovakia.
