The Brotherhood of Man

Humanity, faced with individual, social, national, and international unrest, is seeking the solution of its many problems.

Perhaps never before in the world's history has there been such persistent effort to unify men and nations, to bring about better social conditions and international understanding. Gradually it is being realized that to bring any enduring solution to individual, national, and international problems confronting humanity, the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth must be complied with.

Christianity, as taught and exemplified by Christ Jesus, urges the demonstration of the essential brotherhood of man. Christian Science restates this teaching. On answering the lawyer's inquiry as to which was the great commandment in the law, Jesus said, in brief, that to love God with all our heart is the first and great commandment; and he added that the second is to love our neighbor as ourself. In speaking of "the demands of the Science of Soul," Mrs. Eddy writes on page 467 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established."
