For a long time I have wished to express through the periodicals my gratitude for Christian Science. I realize now that my quest for Truth began when I was a very young girl, at the passing away of my father in 1874. I could not understand why this should be, but I knew the answer was in the Bible if I could only find it. The search continued for years. I had many talks with clergymen and physicians, and took several courses in Bible study, but I seemed to become more confused until Christian Science came into my life.

When this hour came I was fearful and discouraged. Death had claimed one of my children, and when "the last enemy" threatened me I was led to Christian Science. As soon as I commenced reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I knew that my search was ended. I was ready for the healing message. It answered my many questions, which theology and materia medica had failed to do, and explained the truth about God and man so clearly and simply that I could see that anyone who will can learn and prove this wonderful truth as Jesus did. To do this was now my great desire.

My burden, which seemed physical as well as mental, was lightened almost immediately, although it was a year before I was entirely free. A physician who was very close to the family said that my condition was incurable, that a case such as mine had never been known to be healed under materia medica. During this illness, my husband, relatives, and physicians had done all that seemed humanly possible for me through change of environment and various kinds of medical treatment, but I constantly grew worse. When I turned absolutely to Christian Science, I was healed.
