SOME of the blessings attendant upon faithful study and application of Christian Science are health, joy, peace, harmony, and plenty. These are the natural outcome of striving to live in accord with God's spiritual laws of harmony as revealed in the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which unlocks the treasures of the Bible and shows that it contains the recipe for every discordant human condition.
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Christ Jesus gave this beautiful healing thought some two thousand years ago, but it is just as efficacious today to help mankind to solve the problem of false desires as when it was first uttered.
When mortals seem to have a craving for alcoholic drink or tobacco, an intemperate appetite for material food or material pleasure, how comforting to know that Christian Science, or the knowledge of God's spiritual laws of harmony, can help them to see that in reality all of God's ideas, or children, are content, complete, satisfied. When mortals learn that they are hungering and thirsting for the lasting peace and joy that only righteousness, or right thinking, can give them, then, and then only, shall they be filled. Then shall the beautiful promise found in Joel 2:26 be fulfilled: "And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed."
