Love's Lesson

DID someone wrong me yesterday?
A lesson should be learned!
I cannot bind him with my hate—
My thought to Love has turned.

It is not he who hurts me so;
'This error's lying thrust.
And as I separate the two,
And turn to God with trust,

I see the lesson which I need
Is to forgive with love.
When this is learned the trials pass—
The lesson's from above!
