Right Thinking and Right Acting
[Written Especially for Young People]
The following admonition from "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 210) by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has meant much in the life of a young man who is today a faithful Christian Scientist: "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness."
This young man was brought up in Christian Science from babyhood, and was taught its truths in the home and in Sunday school. At fourteen years of age he was attending a country day school, leaving very early in the morning and returning late in the afternoon.
One day, while he was at school, his mother, in dusting his desk, came across a large sheet of paper with a chart which had been kept for three months. It was marked off in squares, with the letter "E," "G," or "F" in each square, and most of the letters were "E." The mother was puzzled, and when her son returned at night she asked him for an explanation.
