Let me assure your correspondent that Christian Scientists believe in the Bible; and not only do they believe, but they demonstrate the truths contained therein. Mrs. Eddy states in the textbook on Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 547): "The Scriptures are very sacred. Our aim must be to have them understood spiritually, for only by this understanding can truth be gained." Through this spiritual discernment of the Scriptures it is being proved with scientific certainty that the words and works of our Master, Christ Jesus, can be understood and practically demonstrated now as in Bible times. It is not denied that sin is a part of human experience, but the teachings of Christian Science, if faithfully followed, will remove from human consciousness the belief in and manifestation of sin.
