Our Beacon Light

GOD is the source of our light, or spiritual enlightenment.

He is our stronghold, our rock, our strong tower. Christian Science reveals God as Principle, immovable, unchangeable divine Principle. In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy defines Deity as follows (p. 587): "God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence."

This spiritual revelation of the true nature of Deity is the light of understanding whose clear beam shines forth steadily. Those who abide in the light of Truth consciously place themselves under Truth's protection. The true knowledge that God, divine Principle, is ever-present good exposes the untruth of all the material, evil beliefs which ascribe power and intelligence to evil. Christian Science teaches us to refute and rise above the false belief in a suppositional power opposed to Deity. God, ever-present good, is all-power, the only Life or Truth. However dark the night of mortal sense may seem to be, the light of Truth never fails, and Truth is triumphant. Immutable, divine Principle is invincible. With unswerving faith, yea, understanding, we are able to overcome difficulties such as sickness, sin, lack, limitation, failure. This basic knowledge is our strong tower, whose foundation is God's omnipotence, that which never changes.
