The demand for good news is in excess of the supply that has been made available. Our newspapers, not fully appreciating the new public hunger, have too often fed it indifferently. The public has wanted the good news that consists of constructive facts, facts and more facts—found for it and fed to it without partiality or coloring....

I should like to see the newspapers undertake the abolishing of the liqour evil, and the abolishing of war. There could be only one result of a proper campaign undertaken by our newspapers in concert. The evils would be abolished....
