I am filled with great joy and profound gratitude for having been led to Christian Science. For many years I suffered from heart trouble, which often kept me in bed for weeks at a time and prevented me from doing my work. I tried various methods of treatment, but none of them brought me any real improvement. Then a dear friend called my attention to Christian Science After my first visit to the practitioner I began to study the Bible and the Christian Science textbook and found in them the pure source of living water which heals and saves. Through the practitioner's loving work, and her understanding and untiring help, I was led out of the darkness of the belief of life in matter; and today I am well and can do my housework alone. The heart attacks, which would not yield for a long time, were dissolved into nothingness when I understood the following passage: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." A deep, strong joy and wonderful peace came over me, and I was free.
My little girl also had a wonderful healing. From her birth she had suffered from attacks of tonsillitis, which often took severe and alarming forms, and later occasioned much absence from school. On one such occasion the doctor said that an operation could no longer be avoided. I had just begun to study Christian Science, and so I asked a practitioner to work for her, which she immediately did. The next morning the doctor found the child well and the tonsils normal, so that he was very much astonished and no longer considered it necessary to remove them. Since then the child is healthier and stronger than she ever was.
I should like to prove my gratitude by learning more of the beautiful teaching of Christian Science, for thereby I shall be enabled to contribute to the realization of God's kingdom.—(Mrs.) Anne Hermann, Neuenburg, b. Pforaheim, Germany.
