About eleven years ago I received an injury to the hip bone by falling on an open safety pin. In time a running sore appeared, followed by a carious condition of the bone. This troubled me greatly at times, and then I would call on a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, but always as soon as the pain was alleviated I would discontinue treatment instead of persevering until the healing was completed. Hence, the trouble broke out from time to time until I finally became discouraged almost to the point of feeling that it could not be cured. However, this was my own fault for not being thorough in my work. Finally, when I was having treatment by a practitioner for some minor illness, this old trouble was completely healed, although I had not mentioned it to her. The healing was so complete that even the hole in the flesh that had been eaten away was all filled in anew. While this loving worker was helping to spiritualize my consciousness, I received this added benefit, showing that, as our beloved Leader says, "Whatever guides thought spiritually benefits mind and body" (Science and Health, p. 149).

Through this experience I have learned to value Mrs. Eddy's admonition, "Suffer no claim of sin or of sickness to grow upon the thought" (Science and Health, p. 390). Promptness and thoroughness are attributes of Mind, and it is our duty to know that man reflects them.

Many this expression of my gratitude for Christian Science healing meet the human need of many who are praying for encouragement, and may it show forth my appreciation of our Leader and my desire to be more obedient to her teachings.
