The Kingdom of God within Us
Confronted with the problem of unemployment, slack business, or insufficient supply, a Christian Scientist may be tempted to query: How is it that some people who know little or nothing about spiritual law have been able to secure or maintain satisfactory employment or a flourishing business and abundant supply, whereas some faithful students of Christian Science, or divine law, have apparently failed to secure the desired results? May it not be that the latter have failed to apply wholeheartedly what they are convinced is the truth?
What is the spiritual law which, when understood and utilized, inevitably, unfailingly, and often immediately, leads to useful and successful activity, improved business, and an abundance of supply? Jesus defined this law in a few simple words when he said, "The kingdom of God is within you." He further instructed us to seek that kingdom first, assuring us that as a natural consequence all needful things would be added unto us. This is because, as we find the kingdom of God within us, we also find that God reigns within His kingdom and has all power over His domain, which is our spiritual consciousness or real being.
This kingdom of God within us is our unrestricted abundance. It means what the father in one of Jesus' parables declared: "All that I have is thine." It includes all wisdom, strength, ability, all substance, power, yea, all the spiritual resources of infinite Mind, Spirit, God. If we stop to realize the immensity of our working capital, that is, of our understanding of God as the source of supply, we find that we have hardly touched it.
