Christian Science came into my life in 1922

Christian Science came into my life in 1922. It was the hardest year in my experience, for I was then suffering from heart and nerve trouble. The doctor who was treating me at that time recommended a cure at a sanatorium for nerve troubles. There, however, I found no improvement, and after four weeks the physician told me that there was no purpose in continuing the treatment, since my disease could not be healed. I was therefore dismissed as incurable.

I returned to the same concern where I had worked previously. There, on the basis of the doctor's certificate, light work was given me. Then a wonderful thing occurred. I came in contact with a student of Christian Science. He acquainted me with the omnipotence of God, with eternal harmony, and explained to me that God is my Physician. To strengthen my changed thinking, he gave me some Christian Science literature to read. I found deep comfort in it and purchased the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read this book with great interest; in indeed contains the bread of Life.

Through daily contact and conversation with that Christian Scientist, I learned to understand that God is my helper. Each day I felt more encouraged, and in a short time I felt freer than ever before. All-merciful Love healed me and made me well. I can say that I was born anew and learned to understand that God is infinite, ever-present Love, who heals all discords.
