Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Natal, South Africa.

Our international daily newspaper continues to make friendly contacts with newspapermen and public officials. The Progress Edition series was reviewed in the press, and also during the year seven articles were published from the Monitor, giving it due acknowledgment. The religious article is inserted once a month in the Natal Witness.

Speaking on the good effect our paper imparts, the matron of a local Nursing Home told a distributor that patients who got depressed with bad news were always given the Monitor to read. The superintendent of the Durban prison also said that several warders who used to speak Afrikaans only, could now speak English as a result of reading the Monitor. It is hoped the prisoners will be given permission to read it in the near future, he said.
