With a grateful heart I wish to testify to the healing power of Christian Science and to relate the wonderful way in which it was revealed to me.

When I was discharged from a hospital on October 21, 1932, I did not know what was to become of me. I had been there for three months with a badly swollen liver and a severe case of jaundice. The doctors had tried everything to help me. As a result of the jaundice there was a terrible itching of the skin, with which the doctors were quite unable to cope. I could not sleep, though all kinds of opiates were tried. In these three months I was given one hundred and seventy injections. Blood tests and hot poultices were customary. After all these experiments I was discharged as improved, but not as healed. I was given all kinds of warnings when I left. Any fat and all seasonings were forbidden; I was not to participate in any sport, and above all I was not to do any physical work. So, about half alive, I went back to work. My employer, no doubt noticing my discouragement, called my attention to Christian Science.

Without the slightest hope I attended one of the church services out of curiosity; and, what was still more surprising, went to a practitioner. In a very short time, however, I was an ardent student and a happy attendant at the services. It was not very long before I began to look better, very much to the doctor's surprise. The swelling of the liver went down and I began to eat and drink whatever I chose. I started training again and have taken part in track meets.
