I first became interested in Christian Science through a friend who was ill. I asked her if she would find out something about it, and we went to see a lady who was a student of this Science. The next day I bought a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy.

At this time one of my boys, eleven years old, had a bald patch on his head left from shingles, also a small growth on his eyelid which the doctor said needed an operation. We started studying the textbook along with the Bible and the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly, and in three months the boy was healed. I had not heard of practitioners then.

Another boy was healed of scarlet fever, and I was healed of a very bad form of rheumatism, from which I had suffered for over thirty years. I was told I could not be cured and could get relief only by going to a foreign spa for at least nine months. I went to see a Christian Science practitioner and in two weeks' time I was doing my housework, and am still able to do so. This was over five years ago. Another healing I had was of cancer in its early stages. A specialist said that I must have an immediate operation, but I went to the practitioner again, and had a quick healing.
