Since 1928 Christian Science has been my only physician

Since 1928 Christian Science has been my only physician. Up until then I had always been under the doctor's care. From birth I was considered a very delicate child, and grew up in that belief, as it seemed necessary to spend at least one or two days of each week in bed. My family were always fearful when I went out alone, and finally would never leave me alone in the house, as I was subject to heart attacks and a severe stomach disorder. At times these attacks were so severe that the doctors were at a loss to know how I ever survived. Their only remedy was more and stronger doses of medicine.

I recall that on one Saturday morning I was more depressed than usual, and realized that what I really needed was something more than material help. I had not attended any church for a number of years, nor had I ever prayed during that time; but I awoke to the realization that I had been asking God to help me, or show me the way out. That night I met a lady who had been healed of blindness through the application of Christian Science. She told me I should be greatly helped if I would give it a trial, and advised me to attend the services, which I did the very next day. During the service I caught a glimpse of the Christ, Truth, and knew then that I had found the way. When I returned home my daughter told me of a book about Christian Science which was in the bookcase. I found it to be Science and Health, spoken of that day by the First Reader. I began at once to read, and in a few days a transformation had taken place, for I was healed of many discordant physical conditions.

With very few exceptions, my healings have come through reading the textbook, and I am grateful to say that most of them have been instantaneous. Some of these healings were of ulcerated teeth, skin disease, infected finger, severe cuts and burns, grippe, bilious headaches, injuries from falls, and fatigue. Our household pets also have been healed. Words can never express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her great love to humanity. Through her untiring efforts she was able to show us the real universe and the divine Principle of being, so that all may find refuge in the Christ, Truth. For membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the happy privilege of teaching in the Sunday school, I am deeply grateful.
