The Mother Church gives annually two series of Christian Science lectures in outlying districts of Boston and in near-by suburban towns where there are as yet no branch Churches of Christ, Scientist. Each series consists of at least five lectures, and the majority of those given in the spring are in different locations from those delivered in the fall of the year.

The lectures are arranged by a committee of Christian Scientists appointed by The Christian Science Board of Directors and acting in co-operation with the Clerk of The Mother Church. The Committee is divided into sub-committees, each representing one of the districts where a lecture is to be given. Local Christian Scientists comprise each subcommittee, which has its own chairman, while all committees function under the direction of a general chairman.

Sometimes it is necessary for one of the lecture committees to arrange for the use of the auditorium of an orthodox church. Recently the pastor of such a church granted the request for the use of his edifice for a Christian Science lecture, and in doing so wrote:
