With a thankful heart I should like to testify to a healing which I received through Christian Science.

After many years of service I, too, was seized upon by the evil belief of unemployment and was thrown out of work in November, 1930. After a short time, as a result of my continual brooding over what I thought would be the hard times coming, all sorts of disease set in—rheumatism, neuralgia, pleurisy, and heart trouble so severe that I could walk barely two or three hundred meters. I resorted to doctors for help for almost six months.

At this unhappy time my son pointed out to me the path to Christian Science. In March, 1931, I sought the aid of a practitioner, who received me very kindly and acquainted me with the teaching of this Science. Through zealously reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and attending the Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I soon became happy again. Even after a few visits to the practitioner, I found with joy that my condition was improving day to day; and in May my healing had progressed to the extent that I once again felt the desire to work.
