Some years ago while under medical treatment for several ills of the flesh, I was very lovingly guided into accepting the great religion of Christian Science. Although it had been brought to my attention previously, I was not ready to accept it. I did not doubt its truth, as I had never investigated it and therefore knew nothing about this "pearl of great price." It surely is the Comforter which our Master, Christ Jesus, said we should receive in his name.
The Bible admonishes, "Be not weary in well doing." If we all obey that loving command, we need never fear the results. It would be impossible to tell of all the good I have received through the study and practice of Christian Science. The first week or so after accepting this truth about God and man in His image and likeness, I was healed of the tobacco habit of sixteen years' standing, chronic constipation, the need of wearing an abdominal support as the result of an operation, and much mental distress due to these troubles. These healings came about through the help of a practitioner, who gave me five treatments, one present and four absent, and intensive reading on my part of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the reading of Journals and Sentinels.
Shortly after that I was able to lay aside glasses which I had worn for some time, and I have never used them since. Among other blessings received was the overcoming of the liquor habit, even though I never indulged in it to a great extent; profanity, the desire for coffee and tea, and pains and soreness around the heart and chest. Also I am grateful for protection in accidents and in business.
