Daily Sun

In a recent issue of the Sun there appeared an editorial with the caption "Without Money" which mentioned Christian Science. I wish to thank you for your kind words, and to make some comments.

You say that "it must be acknowledged that the average Christian Scientist is a highly intelligent being, much above the general run," and you conclude that "this being so ... these high-class people" are devoted and earnest in pursuit of what outsiders regard as an insubstantial vision, if not a superstition, because "the Christian Scientist has got hold of the fringe of Truth and is clinging desperately."

The Christian Scientist "clings" to these words of Jesus: "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Free from what? you may ask. Thousands of Christian Scientists from all over the world can reply that in proportion to their continuance in God's Word they have been freed not only from the bondage of sin, but from the bondage of drugs and disease, false appetites, financial disaster, limitations of age and ability—all the thousand and one problems that beset human living.
