My heart overflows with gratitude to God for the good...
My heart overflows with gratitude to God for the good that has come to me through Christian Science. It was brought to my attention some twenty years ago by a dear friend, and Science and Health was read but, as I now realize, in a desultory way, more for its beautiful rendering and pure diction than for any definite hope of healing, until the summer of 1932 when one of God's consecrated workers came to our home. As a child I always loved the Bible, and through my daily study of our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, in connection with our Leader's priceless work, Science and Health, and the guiding help of a loved practitioner, the spiritual truths are being made clear, giving me a better understanding, and leading me out of darkness into the understanding of Life, Truth, and Love. My outlook on life was changed, and a deep-seated feeling of resentment which had been aroused because I had been left alone by the passing of a loved one was healed. All questioning and unrest have been stilled, leaving a fragrant, beautiful memory that grows sweeter with the years.
I am deeply grateful for the wonderful help and healings I have had. A chronic case of constipation, dating from earliest childhood, has been overcome. Sight has been restored; I can do fine work without the aid of glasses after wearing them for thirty-five years. One Sunday morning I was suddenly stricken with a lame back. I received but slight relief, and for three weeks could not stand nor move quickly without excruciating pain. Then I asked for absent treatment and was healed overnight. A very annoying skin irritatin, named ringworm, slowly disappeared as the truth was applied to my thinking.
I am exceedingly grateful to God, the Giver of all good, for sending His beloved Son, and to Mary Baker Eddy, whose illumined vision enabled her to see the man of God's creating and to understand the Christ, Truth, until she, too, could heal as Christ Jesus healed. I wish also to offer a loving tribute to the two practitioners who helped me on my way.
