Activity and Opportunity
Multitudes seeking work! What does it mean? The world's question is answered by the effulgence of Truth's appearing. One says, "I am willing—anxious—to work, but I find no opportunity." What does he mean by work, by opportunity?
Christian Science reveals that God, Mind, is the foundation of all that really exists, the source of perfect activity. The universe of God's creating, the universe of ideas, is always in a state of activity. Man, God's likeness, expresses Mind's activity. Reality is Mind in action, Love in action, intelligence in action. If we look to matter or mortal mind for activity, we find only an imitation of the divine action, and as this imitation has no cause, it is inaction, apathy, obscurity of thought.
Shall we conceive of existence as material, as did Adam, or error, tilling the soil in the sweat of the brow; or shall we raise our concept to a higher level? So long as our concept of work is material, we struggle to perform it on a material plane and find there the results of the false concept, in toil, fatigue, obstruction, baffling failure, much energy expended with little or no recompense. But if we seek the true activity in Mind, we shall find an open way, a light heart, and a just remuneration.
